Upstairs Apartment with Canal View (No pets allowed)

The upstairs accommodation is very spacious and features a large, luxurious bathroom with a bathtub, shower, double sink, toilet and underfloor heating. The entrance is reached via the stairs in the middle of the houseboat, so it is important that guests booking this accommodation are comfortable using stairs.

From the hallway, the bathroom is on the right and a bright studio is on the left. The studio includes a kitchen, a seating area overlooking the water towards Amsterdam city centre, and a sleeping area with a television. You can log in to your own Netflix account on the smart TV or stream content from your smartphone or iPad to the TV.

In the kitchen, the right-hand cupboard contains a microwave and a hob, allowing you to prepare or heat up simple meals. The studio has three windows overlooking the garden and the water. From here, you can enjoy views of the canal with its many different houseboats, birds, passing boats, swimmers and people on paddleboards. At the end of the canal, you can see the NDSM area and, across the IJ, the city of Amsterdam.

• Access to the apartment via stairways, so it is not suitable for guests with limited mobility.

• The kitchen is a small pantry with induction hob, coffee & tea facilities, and basic equipment – suitable for light cooking, not for extensive meals.

• Our garden is shared with other guests and us as hosts. You may also meet our friendly cat Indy and Labradoodle Nala.

• Pets are not welcome upstairs.

• Smoking is not allowed indoors, but it is permitted in the outside kitchen or in the garden.

• A €500 fine applies if smoking rules are violated indoors.

• Bed linen and towels are included, and beds are freshly made upon arrival.

From Amster Houseboat, you can easily explore the city:

• Schiphol Airport is approximately 25 minutes away by car or around 40 minutes by public transport.

After a busy day (or night) in the city, you’ll come home to a unique floating stay surrounded by greenery: on one side a relaxing park, on the other the charm of life on and by the water. From the deck you can enjoy stunning views across the canal straight into the city center.

Within walking distance you’ll find a supermarket and all daily essentials. Just around the corner lies the trendy NDSM area, a former shipyard transformed into one of Amsterdam’s creative hotspots. Here you’ll discover countless restaurants, cozy cafés, an artisan bakery, a wine & cheese boutique, cultural festivals, and even the famous STRAAT Graffiti Museum. From NDSM you can hop on the free ferry that takes you directly to Amsterdam Central Station in minutes.
